Gracie Snoddy, a high school junior from Logan County Kentucky started JKL Pinto Beans in 2020 as her SAE project for FFA. With guidance from local farmers and family friends across the country, she raised the first known crop of pinto beans in Kentucky, two full acres on the family farm.

You will be needing
1 pound dried pinto beans sorted and rinsed I used dried beans from browning country ham
1 tablespoon bacon drippings
1 pound or less of split ham Shank I use browning country ham Shank Link bellow
1 medium to medium small onion
3 cloves chopped garlic
3 teaspoons chicken bullion powder or cubes
6 cups water plus more added during cooking
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
